Dataline has expanded with its acquisition of PRAGMA Informationssysteme GmbH and remains in the market for further buys.
The takeover comes as part of company’s ambition to further strengthen its position in the European market, particularly in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
The company took over PRAGMA – developer of Chroma software aimed at companies in the print industry – from Bertsch Innovation – a software company outside the graphic arts industry.
Though the former owners had success in other sectors, it became clear after two years that PRAGMA was better suited to a specialist in graphic ERP software.
As a result, it has joined Dataline who has had success with previous acquisitions across Europe, such as Insad (Netherlands), Loiston (Finland), and Palmart (Spain).
Dirk Deroo, CEO of Dataline said: “With PRAGMA as a strong partner, we can now establish a solid foundation in the DACH region and serve our customers better at the local level.
“This investment not only adds a valuable customer portfolio to our company but also brings a team of experienced and motivated specialists.”
Michael Baumeister, director of PRAGMA said: “We are excited to join forces with a strong partner like Dataline.
“We share the same vision: the graphic arts industry in Germany needs advanced automation and powerful workflows to maintain its competitiveness in the global market.
“It’s expertise and products have proven to be perfectly suited for this, and we firmly believe that together we can make great strides.”
General-purpose software, not specifically designed for the print industry, is of little help to print media companies. To meet this need, Dataline developed MultiPress MIS/ERP software.
Dataline and PRAGMA have immediately started an integration process.
